Ravenna is a city waiting to be discovered: mosaics, nature, sea, good food, and amusement parks.
A city of art and culture, known as the city of mosaics, it boasts an ancient history: 1600 years ago it was the capital three times—of the Western Roman Empire, of the kingdom of Theodoric, and of the Byzantine Empire in Europe.
The magnificence of that period has left an extraordinary legacy: as many as 8 monuments have been declared UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
From Artisti Rooms, all the main monuments are within easy walking distance.
The Basilica of Sant'Apollinare in Classe is an exception. It is located just outside the city and can be reached in a few minutes by car or bus, or easily by bicycle.
